一对大学里的恋人将近毕业，都在申请出国留学。有一天，男的先拿到了offer，他没有马上告诉女的。时间一天天过去，女的一直没有收到 offer，男的也一直没告诉女的他拿到了offer。直到过了deadline，女的只能留在国内工作，男的舍不得离开她，也把自己的offer letter收了起来，也留在国内工作。那年的圣诞节到了，男的把自己的那封offer letter当作圣诞礼物送给女的，向她表白自己的心意。女的看到后泣不成声。原来，女的也早已拿到offer，但她也因为怕男友难过就一直没拿出来。
案例二
有人敲门，丈夫在洗澡，让妻子去开门。敲门的是住在隔壁的男的。邻居男子对妻子说，你脱掉衣服我就给你一千块钱。妻子想了想，脱了，邻居男子果然给了她一千块钱。妻子关上门，喜滋滋的跑去告诉还在洗澡的丈夫，只脱了一下衣服就赚了一千块钱。丈夫听了大骂，原来那个邻居男子本来就欠他们家一千块钱。
案例三
一对贫穷的年轻夫妻，他们家只有两件值钱的东西，一件是丈夫的祖传怀表，另一件就是妻子的一头秀发。他们彼此深爱对方，当圣诞节来临的时候，他们都想尽办法要送给对方最珍贵的礼物。结果，丈夫卖掉了金表，买了一只玳瑁做的头饰给妻子；妻子卖掉了一头秀发，买了白金表链给丈夫。
