Right. The writing seemed to be simplified Chinese. I deal with a lot of Chinese stuff at my work but I do not speak Chinese. I met you a few times at Weiland’s and I thought you were from Hong Kong so I would have expected traditional.

I have been working on a huge Health & Safety manual for the Guangzhou office. They were so proud of themselves when only one person lost a few fingers last year, and it has been five years since somebody died, but that’s still unacceptable. Americans are picky about safety. We had two H&S specialists, one guy from Hong Kong and one from Beijing (I think) and I was told to be sure it’s simplified since it’s for Guangzhou. I still have no idea what the words say, but I can almost tell the difference. Korean comes with little circles, Japanese look more simple, and Chinese looks complicated.
I’m one of the few Westerners working on the project, but I’ve never gone to Guangzhou - only Shenzhen and HKG. I was supposed to be there last month, but the Chinese Embassy could not find an empty page on my passport. No time for me to send it to get more pages put in, so I had to cancel my trip to Guangzhou.
I think Starbuck’s in Beijing is hiring. They keep losing employees every month and need fresh ones.
I thought you were from Hong Kong… but your Chinese is from Red China.. well, not true 100% Red China anymore, but we’re still working on China.
